New Camera and Visit to Grandma's

After much debate and frustration with the quality of our point-and-shoot digital cameras, we decided to go "big" and get a digital SLR. We chose the Nikon D5000, and so far we are pleased. The first opportunity to try it out was our recent trip to North Carolina to visit Justin's parents. We had a great time and got some great shots of the girls. Ellie got to pet a horse, "ride" a tractor, and put her feet in the cold creek behind their house. It is so much fun as a parent to watch your children as they have these new experiences. It is one of the privileges of parenthood for me. Here are a few of my favorites. I am hoping to get better about updating my blog. (We'll see!)

Our Newest Addition (better late than never)

Anne Barrett Little was born on October 17, 2009. She has a head of thick, dark hair, and the sweetest little smile. Needless to say, I have been a little busy, but here are some pictures of our littlest little girl. We are enjoying her so much!

Summer Fun Recap

Summer has flown by, and so has my pregnancy. Only about 10 weeks left until baby Anne arrives. Oh yeah, she has a name now. Anne Barrett. We are still debating on whether to call her "Annie" or "Anne Barrett." I like both. Anyway, since I have been pregnant, I have been very tired, so I have been napping during Ellie's nap. This means that I don't get much done, including updating my blog. So...here are some pictures of Ellie from the whole summer. She is so much fun. She talks constantly and keeps us in stitches. We are also awaiting the arrival of Ellie's first cousin, Lila, at the beginning of September. Needless to say, we have a lot going on!

Our First Trip sans Ellie

Justin and I decided to take a little relaxation trip without Ellie a few weeks ago. It was the first time we had left her overnight, and it was hard! But we knew we needed to do it before baby #2 got here. We drove up to the "mountains" in north Alabama to stay at the Lodge at Gorham's Bluff . It is a beautiful place with great food and absolutely nothing to do. And that is what we wanted. Justin was a little nervous at first, since he always has to be doing SOMEthing. But he made it. We sat in the lodge (it was way too hot to hit the hiking trails, especially with me being pregnant) and read books and talked and it was wonderful. We had every meal provided at the lodge, and the food was fantastic. I hope we can go there again sometime!
